Location, Location, Location
No, this is not a page for Real Estate, but the principle is the same. Google provides an easy way for ordinary sites to bring in extraordinary side income with little effort. Just like finding hidden treasure up in your attic that you may think is some worthless bubble gum cards. Ever heard the saying, "One man's trash is another man 's treasure?". Your web site may be just something you threw together, but its content may be more valuable than you think.

Google lets you place their ads on your site in a variety of locations, (there's that word again, location, we'll explain about that in a little bit), and those ads can earn you cash, (like those bubble gum cards in your attic). If you go to Google's main page, at Google.com, you'll see some ads over on the right hand side of their search pages, those are sponsored links. People advertise thousands of products on millions of Google's pages. These people are paying money to advertise on Googles pages, sometimes over $50 everytime someone clicks on one of those little ads, (and you thought you just found an ad that perfectly matched what you were searching for), well, there's ways to make it look like the ad perfectly matched what you're wanting, we'll cover that later.

Your Own Little Google Site
These ads you're seeing on the right side of each Google search, are called adwords. When you place a small, few lines of code Google gives you, on your site, now they're called Google Adsense, just like magic. Nothing changed, just location (that word again), just by them moving from Google to your site, they are now called Adsense, and now they can make you some cash, its just that easy. The ads are real, the exact ones like you'll find when you do a search at Google. It's like having your own little Google Search on your own site, and you can configure it to look through your own site or Google, and even that can bring in extra cash.

Where will I see the same ads showing on my site?
It depends on how you reached that page, and the content on your page. People can come to your site through a search engine if you're indexed in one of their databases. It gets in there by submitting it to Googles submission page, or by one of their little robots or spiders coming to visit you. Submission and Spiders and Bots, OH MY, don't worry Dorothy, GoogleLand is even in Kansas. You see, your content is what determines what type of ads are going to show up, but the keywords someone types that brought them to that page through a search engine also has a factor on what the ads are going to say, so finding the same ads at Google will be at random, and the ads that do show up, are going to be the ones that are making it to the top 4 or so at Google.

I've tracked what people type that come to this site, and have seen different related words come to the same page, but the ads are different based on what they type. Entering the same words they use, and coming over and over again, the ads are the same, until I use the different group of keywords coming to the same page, and presto-changeo, different ads. So you may not find the same ads other places.

How do these little ads make me money?
Google Adsense ads take someone who clicks on them, to a site relevant to what they're searching for, imagine that, and the person placing that ad, pay's a fee whenever someone clicks on that ad. Based on what that person is advertising, determines how much they pay-per-click (PPC), now you know what those letters mean that you've been seeing everywhere.

Google has to make something since it's their idea, and they're willing to share it with you since you're advertising for them on your site. It's not stated in writing anywhere the exact figure or PORTION you will get per click, but something is better than nothing, right?

How much money can I make with Google Adsense?
Depending on your traffic volume, and what type of ads show up on your site determines how much money you can make by placing Google Adsense ads on your site. Don't order that Dream Home the same evening you placed an ad on your site. Google Adsense ads are like the Social Security program, they weren't meant to replace your income, just to help out....Unless, no, let me say it bigger, UNLESS, you use secrets that have been proven over and over again. With every adventure in making money comes people who know how to make more than anyone else. If you're willing to work smarter, study, and apply what you've learned, you're part of that group that knows that the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.

What else is there to do beside just throwing the ads somewhere on my pages?
I'm glad you asked, because I have an answer. Let's say it all together now, Location, Location, Location. Now you know about 20% of the secret that you need to know to be ahead of 80% of the people that cant understand why they're not making any more money than they are with Google Adsense. It's true that location is important, and Google offers what they call a "heat map" of where your best chance of success is going to be on a page for your ads. Now the other 80% of success comes from other things, and these include which ads that Google offers you work best, what colors work best, what types of ads, and which types of ads work best in which location. This is just scratching the surface on what you can do to be creative, but it's well worth it. These ads, once place correctly, run on their own basically, day and night, while you're out going to a movie, working in the yard, sleeping, there are people from every part of the world on the Internet, awake while you're asleep, browsing the Internet, and coming to your site, and if they don't find exactly what they want, they're gone. But if you offer them some ads that normally match the keywords they entered, and they click on them before they go away, you've just earned some easy money.
