Podiatrist Designed Quality Shoes for Kids |
|
Structure and function of the foot The adult foot is a very sophisticated structure with 26 bones, 35 joints and numerous ligaments and muscles that facilitate function. A newborns foot is flat, flexible and the bones are predominately soft cartilage. As the baby starts to walk usually between 12-18 months the foot structures strengthen and the gait will change from a wide flat footed gait to a heel to toe straight adult like gait usually by the time they are 5-7 years. Most Important Reason Behind Buying Quality Shoes for Kids By about age 14 -17 the soft cartilage has ossified and the feet are usually fully developed, and have stopped growing in length by the age of 18. Childrens' feet change so much as they grow, it is really important they have the right environment to grow in. If you are concerned about the development or structure of your childs feet and walking you should see a podiatrist. Kids On The Go is dedicated to providing quality children's footwear at very competitive prices. We design and develop our own brand of shoes for kids using genuine leather uppers and leather linings. We work with Footsense, NZ registered podiatrists who help us to design our shoes to ensure that KOTG shoes provide the best comfort and support for little growing feet. As well as our own brand, Kids On The Go take great effort to source other high quality brands who's philosophies and beliefs are in line with our own. The best thing for
babies and young toddlers is bare feet, however the next best thing to
bare feet is Pedipeds. Pedipeds are made from 100%, hand stitched leather
with butter soft leather linings and extra padded footbeds. See all of
the Pediped range here. Podopediatrics is the study and application of foot problems in children, and is only one of the areas of podiatry that we specialise in. Below is a list of treatments we can provide with regard to childrens feet: Detailed biomechanical assessments of your childs foot. (This will tell us how it is working as they walk and if everything is happening correctly).
